Macaw parrots are beautiful beautiful creatures. I see them as flying color palets.
Once, I heard a story about how the Brazilian composer Villa-Lobos, alleged he went into the amaonian forest and learnt Brazilian folklore music from listening to the parrots’ sounds. According to him, parrots had learnt the old songs from contact with humans many years befor and had been transmitting them from generation to genetation ever since.
I don’t know if any of this is true, but I find it such a brilliant possibility. So, inspired by parrots and their legends, I have imagined two pieces around this theme: INSPIRATION and GOSSIP.
